What is Full Mouth Reconstruction?

Full Mouth Reconstruction is a structured treatment programme used when many, or sometimes all, of the teeth require rebuilding.

It brings together multiple restorative techniques, planned as one coordinated approach rather than isolated treatments.

Wherever possible, we prioritise preservation of natural tooth structure and long-term stability.

Before and after examples

These examples show how worn, damaged, or heavily restored teeth can be rebuilt as part of a full mouth reconstruction.

Results vary depending on starting condition, bite forces, and the treatments involved.

How reconstruction is planned

Composite-based rebuilding

Used where appropriate to restore worn or damaged teeth conservatively.

Tooth Kind Crowns or Onlays

Preserving structure while restoring strength where needed.

Ceramic Implants

Metal-free replacement for missing teeth where appropriate.

Tooth Kind Bridges

Conservative fixed replacement for missing teeth.

Comfortable Dentures

Removable options designed for comfort and stability.

Replacing failing dentistry

Replacing older crowns, bridges, or restorations that are no longer stable.

Strong foundations come first

Full Mouth Reconstruction always begins with a detailed Biological Foundations Plus consultation.

This allows us to assess bite position, gum health, bone levels, existing dental work, and factors such as clenching, grinding, or acid exposure before any rebuilding begins.

Active disease is stabilised first, and underlying causes are addressed to support a predictable outcome.

Trial phase and bite confirmation

In many cases, a provisional or 'test-drive' phase is used.

This allows us to confirm comfort, bite position, and tooth length before final restorations are completed.

This step helps ensure the final result is both functional and comfortable long-term.

What to expect

Full Mouth Reconstruction is delivered over multiple visits, with each stage carefully planned.

  • Treatment is delivered over multiple visits, with each phase carefully sequenced

  • Typical timeframe is around six months, though this varies depending on complexity

  • Local anaesthetic is used as standard throughout treatment

  • IV sedation is available for surgical or implant phases

  • Multiple clinicians may be involved where appropriate

Pressure and movement may be felt during some procedures, but pain is not expected.

Long-term protection

Protective night-time appliances are routinely provided to help shield restored teeth from clenching and grinding forces.

A composite-led approach allows repairs and refinements over time while preserving the underlying natural teeth.
