Introduction

When a tooth needs to be removed, how it is managed has a significant influence on healing and what is possible in the future.

At N1 Dental, we use a considered approach known as Biological Tooth Removal, designed to protect surrounding bone and tissues while supporting natural healing.

Why a biological approach

Preserving healthy bone

Preserving as much healthy bone as possible during the removal process.

Predictable healing

Supporting predictable healing through careful technique and planning.

Future options

Keeping future options open, such as implants or other restorations.

What to expect

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel discomfort during treatment. Pressure and movement may be felt, but pain is not expected.

  • For patients who require additional support, IV sedation is available to help you feel deeply relaxed throughout the procedure

  • Each step is planned carefully and explained clearly before anything is done

Rather than relying on excessive force, the tooth is removed in a controlled manner that avoids compressing the surrounding bone, which can compromise healing.

Supportive therapies

Supportive therapies are used selectively and as part of a wider clinical plan.

Ozone therapy

PRF therapy

Bone grafting

Nutritional status testing

3D X-ray (CBCT)

Saliva microbiome testing

These measures support healing and decision-making and are not provided in isolation.

Healing and future options

The aim of Biological Tooth Removal is to preserve bone and support regeneration, helping reduce the risk of defects that can complicate future care.

For patients planned for a ceramic implant, and where conditions allow, the implant may sometimes be placed at the same appointment as the tooth removal. This is assessed carefully on a case-by-case basis and discussed in advance.

For teeth in the smile line, protecting bone is especially important for long-term gum stability and appearance.

Assessment and planning

For this type of treatment, we usually recommend a Biological Foundations Plus consultation.

This allows us to assess:

  • Overall health and medical history

  • Bite and surrounding structures

  • Nutritional and healing considerations

  • The procedure is then planned in a way that supports optimal recovery

Fees

Biological Tooth Removal

£750 – £850

When part of planned ceramic

implant treatment

£550

Any additional procedures such as bone grafting, PRF, or IV sedation are discussed and confirmed in advance.
